Altrove Films is an independent film production company based in Trento (Italy) with a focus on reality-based cinema and author-driven films, creative documentaries and new media. We have a strong interest in european and international co-productions and we are committed to foster the development of new talents and emerging filmmakers in a world cinema perspective.
Roberto Cavallini is a film & creative producer with a professional academic background as lecturer and researcher in the fields of visual cultures, documentary practices and film studies. After studying Art History and Aesthetics at Cà Foscari University of Venice, Roberto was awarded a PhD in Visual Culture in 2010 from Goldsmiths, University of London, with a dissertation on Pier Paolo Pasolini. Between 2012 and 2016, Roberto was Assistant Professor in the Radio, TV and Cinema Department, Faculty of Communication at Yaşar University, Izmir (Turkey) and published several essays and articles on international academic journals (Studies in European Studies, Aniki, Cinema & Storia, New Cinemas). Beside his academic activities, since 2006 Roberto has worked as writer and producer in the creative development, financing and coordination of different film and cultural projects and events internationally. He is a member of EDN – European Documentary Network, EAVE Network, Bosch Alumni Network.
Carla Esperanza Tommasini
Carla Esperanza Tommasini is a curator, producer and project manager in the field of performing arts. After studying Theatre at DAMS in Bologna with a thesis on 'The International Caracas Festival', she moved to London where she obtained a Master degree in Contemporary Performance at Brunel University (UK). In England she continued her career as an artist / performer and started working as a producer for Pacitti Company and SPILL Festival of Performance. In 2009 she began a collaboration with Reloading Images (Berlin) for which she curated a series of projects, including the publication 'Damascus: tourists, artists, secret agents' and a mobile residence in South India' M.A.P. Mobile Artistic Platform '. In 2011, she participated in 'FESTIVAL LAB', a partnership of 8 festivals (Spielart, Monaco, LIFT, London, Homo Novus, Riga, Baltic Circle, Helsinki, POT, Tallin, KRT, Krakow, Meteor, Bergen, Exodos, Ljubljana), an intensive training for festival and producer directors. In the same year she began collaborating with the Festival Pergine Spettacolo Aperto, where in 2012 she initiated OPEN // CREAZIONE CONTEMPORANEA. Between 2013 and 2016 she lived in Izmir, where she worked as a researcher in the field of performing arts at Yasar University. Since 2015 she has been in charged of the creative development of artistic creation, international relations and EU projects for Pergine Spettacolo Aperto. In 2016 she was selected to participate in the Global Cultural Leadership Program in Malta, a program focused on leadership in international cultural collaborations supported by the European Cultural Foundation and the European Commission. Since 2018, she is the artistic director of Pergine Festival.
